WILMINGTON, MA — John Arthur Gagnon, affectionately known to many as Pop and Jackie, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on August 20, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Alfred and Freda Gagnon.
He served in the United States Air Force and worked with the United States Postal Service. In addition to his professional contributions, John was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints, a passion that brought him joy throughout his life.
John was cherished by his many family members who have very fond memories of visiting him at multiple Air Force bases around the country until he make his home in Biloxi. At his new home in Biloxi his door was always open to family and friends who enjoyed visiting.
John Arthur Gagnon will be remembered for his unwavering dedication and the love he shared with those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, fortitude, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of many.
John is survived by his beloved siblings: sister Jeanne Reinbolt of Wilmington, MA, brother Bill Gagnon of Rhode Island, brother Jim Gagnon of North Reading, MA, and sister Karen Petzold of Haverhill, MA. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and a loyal dog named Rocky, who was a cherished companion.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine Gagnon; brother, Al Gagnon; sister, Dolly Ross; and by his parents, Alfred and Freda Gagnon.
Visitation and Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home – Howard Avenue in Biloxi, MS, followed by a graveside service with Military Honors in Biloxi National Cemetery.
