WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Public Schools is seeking substitute teachers at the elementary school, middle school and high school levels, according to a job listing.
Wilmington Public Schools is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to substitute in our dynamic schools. If you have availability every day, some days and even partial days and have a passion for education and working with students in an educational environment Wilmington is the place for you. You do not need to possess a teacher’s certification to be a per diem substitute.
• Implement lesson plans consistent with the teacher’s guidelines, and school curriculum
• Maintain an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience
• Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, such as fire drills and lockdowns
• Adhere to all school policies and procedures
• Carry out lesson plan instructions from the classroom teacher, and/or create lesson plans in absence of a prepared lesson
• Create and maintain a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and productive learning environment in accordance with school policies
• Other assignments as assigned by building administrators
Substitute Rates are as follows:
Day to day:
• Educational Assistant or Teacher (no degree and/or not certified – $110/day
• Teacher (bachelors degree or certified) – $120/day
31-59 days in the same assignment:
• $130/day without a DESE license
• $140/day with a DESE license
60-89 days in the same assignment:
• $150/day without a DESE license
• $160/day with a DESE license
