OBITUARY: Robert A. Mills, 88

BURLINGTON, MA — Mr. Robert A. Mills, age 88, died peacefully on August 8, at Sunrise of Burlington. He was the loving husband of the late Marion V. (Howe) Mills.

Born in Everett and raised in North Reading and later Revere, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Flora (Peach) Mills. Bob attended Revere High School and then studied mechanical engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and later graduated from Northeastern University. He began his career as an engineer for Charles T Main and retired from Raytheon Technical Services Company in Burlington after many years as a technical writer.

Bob was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family. He was an avid reader and loved attending author events. He was a long-time member of the Saugus Historical Society, he enjoyed researching and archiving local history. His love for history also had him traveling all over the country with his wife, looking for antiques and visiting historical landmarks.

A member of the Masons for over 60 years he was part of the Friendship Lodge in Wilmington. He also volunteered at the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library in Lexington.

He is survived by his two daughters Diana Mills of Medford, Alicia Ausilio and her husband Victor of Billerica, two grandchildren, Emma and Christopher. He was the brother-in-law of Barbara and Marshall Bishop of Wilmington. Mr. Mills is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS, on Tuesday, August 12 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 13 at 11 a.m. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
