OBITUARY: Mona G. (Crispo) Chase, 92

WILMINGTON, MA — Mona G. Chase (Crispo), age 92, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Mona was born in Wilmington, MA, on June 4, 1933; she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Travis) Crispo. Mona grew up in the Silver Lake area of Wilmington where she enjoyed skating and swimming and made many life-long friends. She was educated in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School.

In later years, Mona enjoyed camping with family and friends at her beloved Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, New Hampshire.

Mona married “the love of her life” Adrene “Rene” Chase; the couple made their home in Wilmington where they raised their family. Mona will be fondly remembered as a beautiful lady inside and out; she was kind, caring, and most of all a dedicated wife, mother to her six children, and grandmother. She will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mona was the beloved wife of 70 years to Adrene “Rene” Chase, devoted mother of Pamela Arruda and her husband Louis of Florida, Michael Chase and his wife Mary of Raymond, NH, Brenda Croft and her late husband Daniel of NH, Peter Chase and his wife Michele of Tewksbury, Timothy Chase and his wife Linda of Dracut, and the late Deborah Camacho and her husband Robert of Shirley, formerly of Chelmsford. Mona was the loving Grammy of 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her siblings Margaret Babanas, John Crispo, Claire Troy, Alfred Crispo, and Charlotte Gray and is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Thursday, August 14th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A Service for Mona will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. followed by her interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
