OBITUARY: Vincent Puccio, Jr., 78

WILMINGTON, MA — Vincent Puccio, Jr., “Vinnie”, age 78, of Wilmington, MA, passed away on August 10, 2025.

Vinnie was born in Boston, MA, on February 3, 1947; his grandmother’s birthday. He was the cherished son of the late Vincent and Madeline (Manganelli) Puccio. Vinnie was raised in South Medford, attended Medford Schools and graduated from Medford High School with the Class of 1965. In his younger years, Vinnie played youth baseball and played soccer on the championship teams while in High School.

After graduation, Vinnie joined the IBEW Local #103 in Boston and later was a member of the MBTA. He joined the United States Air Force Reserves in 1967 and served for 6 years.

In 1973, Vinnie met his future wife Cheryl D. Spinney and they married one year later. Vinnie and Cheryl lived in Medford for their first year of marriage before buying their home in Woburn in 1975 where they resided for 13 years.

In 1987 their first son Rocco A. Puccio arrived and shortly after they bought their home in Wilmington. In 1991 they welcomed their second son Andrew J. Puccio.

Vinnie will be remembered as a hard worker, a devoted family man, and a great friend and neighbor. He will be missed by all who knew an loved him.

Vinnie was the beloved husband of Cheryl Puccio (Spinney), devoted father of Rocco Puccio and wife Christin of Billerica and Andrew Puccio and wife Erica of Lowell. Loving “Grumpie” of Charlotte, Leonardo, and Lorenzo Puccio. Vinnie is pre-deceased by his brother Joseph Puccio, his sister Francis Musi and his nephew Joseph Puccio Jr. He is survived by special nephews Michael Musi, Albert DeLeo, and nieces Rose Crowley and Joanne Comer.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Wednesday, August 13th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. All are welcome to gather at the Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vinnie’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the American Diabetes Foundation, National Office, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
