Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Department of Public Works:
WILMINGTON, MA — As work progresses through the 2025 construction season, the Butters Row Bridge Replacement project remains on-schedule. The State’s contractor, MAS, is currently working night shifts to install excavation support systems on each side of the railroad tracks. Night work is expected to continue through August 2025 before transitioning back to regular daytime work hours. As the fall season approaches, the expectation is for MAS to start bridge substructure work (foundations/footings), roadway utility work (water and sewer work) and linear roadway work for new approaches along Butters Row to the bridge.

Residents will have access to their properties throughout construction, although there will be short delays and/or detours to accommodate workers and public safety.
To keep the Public updated on any changes to the anticipated schedule and future traffic impacts, The Town will be posting updates to the Department of Public Works (DPW’s) website under “News and Announcements”; located here for convenience: https://www.wilmingtonma.gov/public-works.
Electronic copies of the plan are available in the Wilmington DPW Engineering Division office located at 121 Glen Road (Wilmington Town Hall) and can be provided upon request by calling 978-658-4499.
Should there be any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the bridge replacement project, or the schedule provided above, please do not hesitate to contact the Engineering Division at 978-658-4499 or the Wilmington DPW administration office at 978-658-4481.
