MILFORD, PA — Alan Stuart Hahn, age 88, a 20-year resident of Milford, PA passed away on Thursday, July 10th, 2025. Alan was born in Tonawanda, New York and lived in New Canaan CT, Bridgeport CT, Wilmington MA, Bethel CT, Fanwood NJ, Lake Zurich IL and Ringwood NJ.
As a Boy Scout, Alan attained the rank of Life Scout and attended the very first National Scout Jamboree in Valley Forge, PA in 1950.
Alan was a Navy Korean War veteran and attained the rank of Petty Officer First Class and worked as an Aviation Electronics Technician and Airborne Radio Operator.
Alan held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport, CT, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University MA and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
While working at AC Sparkplugs in Wakefield MA, a subsidiary of General Motors, Alan helped build and test the Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) for the Apollo Space Program.
While working at Printing Developments, Inc. in Norwalk CT with Harold O. W. Jordan, Alan obtained patent number 3,794,756 for an “Apparatus for Coupling Photographic Parameters into a Mechanism for the Production of Photographic Color Separations”.
Alan was President and owner of Hickory Mountain Associates Inc., a Telecommunications Consulting firm in Ringwood, NJ.
Alan was the beloved husband of the late Helena S. (Stiles) Hahn, a loving father of Richard Arthur Hahn and his wife Karen of Maricopa, AZ, James Robert Hahn and his wife Michelle of Ringwood, NJ and Douglas Stuart Hahn and his wife Alicia of Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Alan was a dear grandfather to David James Hahn, Brian Michael Hahn, Adam Douglas Hahn, Lauren Susan Hahn and Luke Alan Hahn. Alan is predeceased by his brother Arthur Harold Hahn.
Visitation at the D’Agostino Funeral Home, 881 Ringwood Avenue, Haskell, NJ will be on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, from 9-10am with a 10am service at the funeral home followed by interment at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 75 North Church Rd, Sparta Township, NJ.
