WILMINGTON, MA — Cynthia M. Topping, “Cindy”, age 68, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Cindy was born in Malden, MA, on December 28, 1956; she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Anna (Quirk) Topping. She was raised and educated in Wilmington, a community that she dearly loved, she made many life-long friends and was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the class of 1975.
Cindy in her early years of her career was a systems engineer with Comcast and Addison Wesley Longman. She advanced on to becoming a Senior Interface Analyst at well-known area hospitals including Cambridge Health Alliance, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and Saints Medical Center.
Cindy will be well remembered for her adventurous spirit; she loved to go boating, sailing and was an avid skier. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States and abroad with family and friends; one of her favorite trips was to Ireland.
Cindy loved spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to holidays and special occasions spent with her sister Anne and her family, she adored her nieces. Cindy had a busy social life with her circle of life-long friends; she loved to fill her schedule with parties, dinners, concerts, or just “hanging out” with the gang; she was always out and about doing something fun.
Cindy will be treasured as a beautiful lady inside and out; she had a great sense of humor and a smile that would light up a room. Cindy was very Patriotic and had the utmost respect for the Veterans. Cindy touched so many people throughout her life and she will forever live on in their hearts and memories.
Cindy was the dear sister of Anne Hayden & her husband David of Chelmsford, and Frank Topping of Sebastian FL. She was the loving aunt of Kathryn Harrington & her husband Robert, Alexandra Hayden, Deanna Hayden & her wife Patricia, and “Auntie G” to great niece and nephew, Ellie and Robert Jr. Cindy is also survived by her dearest friend Sheryl Hurley, as well as her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Friday, June 27th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon followed by a Service at 12:00 noon. Her interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
At Cindy’s request donations in her memory may be made to any organization that helps to support American Soldiers, Wounded Warriors, or to Sailing Heals, in lieu of sending flowers.
