Tewksbury Library To Host 9 Outdoor Concerts This Summer

The Tewksbury Public is pleased to announce the return of its popular Outdoor Summer Concert Series on Monday nights at 6:30pm, from June 16 to August 11.

These concerts will feature some of the area’s best tribute bands and cover bands, including Abraxas (June 16), The Rico Barr Band (June 23), The American Who (June 30), Marc Berger And The Ride (July 7), The Reminisants (July 14), 4everFab (July 21), Rick Anthony (July 28), The Island Castaways Band (August 4), and White Street Band (August 11).

Concerts will take place on the library’s back lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. Overflow parking is available in the field across from the library’s parking lot.

With the exception of the June 16 concert, Tewksbury Telemedia will be live-streaming each concert on the Town’s YouTube channel (search for “TewksburyTV” on YouTube), as well as on their local access television channels.

These concerts are free of charge and co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Tewksbury Cultural Council. To supplement the cost of next year’s concerts, the Friends of the Library will be selling raffle tickets and accepting donations at a table near the stage.

These are drop-in events — no registration is required. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be rescheduled. Such announcements would be made by the library through its social media channels, website, and e-newsletter.

Abraxas (Santana Tribute Band): On Monday, June 16 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from the popular Santana Tribute Band, Abraxas. Celebrate the golden era of Carlos Santana’s music. This tribute band has meticulously crafted a show that celebrates the legacy of Santana’s unique blend of Latin-infused rock, blues, and jazz fusion. With an impressive repertoire that spans the entirety of Santana’s career, from the classic hits to the deep cuts, Abraxas delivers a performance that is both authentic and electrifying.

The Rico Barr Band: On Monday, June 23 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from The Rico Barr Band, featuring The JJR Horns. The band captivates audiences with their electrifying performances spanning the Classic Rock and Pop Decades, Motown, and Rhythm and Blues. The band will also pay tribute to the Piano Man himself, Billy Joel, in a crowd-pleasing spectacle, showcasing some of Joel’s greatest hits, from “Piano Man” and “Uptown Girl” to “New York State of Mind” and “My Life.” Get ready for a high-energy, live band performance that captures the heart and soul of Billy Joel’s music and musical legacy. The band will also pay tribute to Frank Sinatra and Friends. As audiences lose themselves in the nostalgia of Sinatra’s timeless hits, they will also be treated to a stellar lineup of performances featuring the music of Tony Bennett, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick Jr, Bobby Darin, and Louis Prima.

The American WHO: On Monday, June 30 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from New England’s #1 The WHO tribute band, The American WHO. The American WHO is an incredible recreation of one of the greatest British rock bands from the 1960s to the present. The band will feature an exciting and authentic show that brings the sound of this legendary band to life. Powerful, unpredictable, charismatic and packed with the unstoppable energy and spirit of Daltrey, Townsend, Moon and Entwistle, American WHO presents a virtual “who’s who” of both classic songs and deep cuts that bring back the memories of Leeds, Woodstock, Isle of Wight and other historic shows.

Marc Berger and Ride: On Monday, July 7 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from Marc Berger and Ride and an evening of country, folk, bluegrass, and Americana music. Marc’s life has been about pursuing twin passions — creating, recording, and performing his original songs and exploring the American West. He’s performed at Austin’s SXSW Music Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival and opened for Bob Dylan and other national acts. Marc’s critically acclaimed album, RIDE, a collection of songs all having to do with the romance of the West has received national airplay and been licensed by Starbucks for worldwide in-store airplay. At this special concert, Marc will perform songs from the album and share stories about some hair-raising experiences he’s had as an easterner traveling through remote parts of the mountain and desert West!

The ReminisantsOn Monday, July 14 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from The Reminisants. The Reminisants have been entertaining audiences of all ages throughout New England since 1973. The band specializes in oldies music from the 1950s through the ’90s, playing a collection of great music for all kinds of musical tastes and generations. Fan favorites at The Sea Shell Stage at Hampton Beach, they have performed on the Esplanade and City Hall Plaza in Boston; Foxwoods Casino; Meadowbrook Arena in Gilford, NH; Twin River Casino; Plainridge Park Casino; The Stadium Theatre in Rhode Island; and both The Big E and The Topsfield Fair. The band has performed with many legends of Rock-N-Roll, and have shared the stage with: The Beach Boys; Paul Revere and The Raiders; The Drifters; Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals; Jay and The Americans; Shirley Alston Reeves, of The Shirelles; Johnny Rivers; Chubby Checker; The Tokens; The Del Vikings; Gary Lewis and The Playboys; The Temptations; and many others.

4EverFab (Beatles Tribute Band)On Monday, July 21 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from the popular Beatles tribute band, 4EverFab. 4EverFab brings to life timeless Beatles music through brilliant lead vocals, precise three-part harmonies and true-to-the-record musicianship. 4EverFab will play this show “By Request” so that the audience will hear the songs that they want to hear. In addition, 4EverFab engages the audience with stories behind the songs, placing them in musical, cultural and historical context. This show is family-friendly and attracts fans from every generation. All the well-known hits will be featured including “She Loves You,” “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields Forever,” plus sing-alongs like “Yellow Submarine” and “Hey Jude.”

Rick Anthony (Elvis Tribute Artist)On Monday, July 28 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from one of New England’s top Elvis performers, Rick Anthony. Don’t be Cruel. Put on your Blue Suede Shoes, and get All Shook Up! Elvis is coming to the library. Rick Anthony is a dynamic entertainer zoomed into big-time entertainment practically overnight. Born in Lawrence, Rick began paying tribute to the late Elvis Presley for audiences when he was 14 years old at a school lip-sync contest. He borrowed an Elvis style jumpsuit, a terrible wig, and took home 1st place. He decided to use his own theatrical talents and studied the voice and energetic performance style of Elvis to create his own high-quality performances. Through the years, Rick has achieved many awards and performed for audiences throughout New England, Florida (including Walt Disney World), Canada, and as far east as the Azores, Portugal.

The Island Castaways Band (Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band): On Monday, August 4 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from one of New England’s top Jimmy Buffett tribute bands, The Island Castaways Band. Originally formed in 2008 as Jimmy Buffett tribute, The Island Castaways Band have evolved into one of New England’s most popular Trop Rock bands. (What is Trop-Rock? Any song that can bring you to your own private island and just sit back with a cold one and relax!) Their live show features a balanced mix of originals and classics, all with their own tropical touch of fun – bringing summer to you, regardless of where you are or the time of year. The band promises a heavy dose of Jimmy Buffett for its Tewksbury concert.

White Street Band: On Monday, August 11 at 6:30pm, Enjoy a concert from the Merrimack Valley’s very own White Street Band. The band offers an energetic blend of rock and blues that will get you up and partying. The band’s members are experienced musicians who all started in high school garage bands and folk groups (didn’t everybody?) and provide a skillful combination of solid vocals with accomplished musical riffs. Originally formed in 2000, the band plays a varied set list ranging from classic rock legends such as The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Byrds, The Steve Miller Band, Tom Petty, The Youngbloods, The Doors, and Bob Dylan to driving blues makers Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton & J. Geils, with a little Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen mixed in.
