About The Wilmington Farmers Market
The Wilmington Farmers Market Association is a group of volunteers dedicated to bringing a farmers market to our town every summer. The Market was started in 2010 and continues to grow each year.
The Market is located on the Town Common across from the High School located at 159 Church St. The Association’s mission is:
- To provide a place where community members can purchase fresh produce directly from local New England Farmers.
- To provide a diverse and interesting selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables, and locally produced goods.
- To educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.
- To partner with local organizations such as the library, area health centers and fitness organizations to promote education about healthy eating.
- To provide a self-sustaining social experience and to foster a sense of community in Wilmington.
The Power of Produce (POP) Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, POP Club kids receive vouchers to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions at the market.
