Terry served actively and honorably until June of 1971 and earned the rank of Sargent; he was honorably discharged and continued to serve the country until September of 1973 with the Air Force Reserves.

Upon his return home, Terry, moved in with his brother and family in Wilmington with whom he was very close, he fit in well in his new community and met “his sweetheart” Patricia Juergens who lived right across the street. Terry will be fondly remembered as a wonderful family guy and a true friend to many; he was a man of great faith and an active communicant of St. Thomas Church in Wilmington for many years.
