WILMINGTON, MA — At its May meeting, the Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli Lodge of Wilmington held its annual Scholarship Dinner. This year’s meal was catered by Kitty’s Restaurant of North Reading and consisted of chicken parmesan, cheese ravioli, rigatoni, meatballs and salad and rolls. Dessert, a strawberry shortcake decorated with real whipped cream and chocolate covered fresh strawberries, was provided by Spinelli’s Bakery of Lynnfield.
Christian Bolanos, Jr., a member for several years, was awarded a $2,000 graduate scholarship. Christian, son of members Jennifer and Christian Bolanos and oldest grandchild of long time members Michael and Jane Caira, is a graduate of Wilmington High School, who pursued his education at St. Anselm’s College in a 4+1 Graduate Program, majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology. While at St. A’s, he was the Treasurer of the Gaming Association for three years and a member of the Criminal Justice Club for four years. During his Junior year he studied abroad in Italy.
