Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Joseph Marshall, age 67, of Wilmington, fondly known as “Joe” or “Uncle Joey” to his family and friends passed away unexpectedly at home on May 10, 2025.
Joe was born in Boston, MA, on June 19, 1957; he was the dear son of the late Thomas Marshall and the late Lillian (Cincotta) Palmisano. Joe was raised and educated in Somerville, MA, and attended Somerville High School.
After High School, Joe went to work for the H. P. Hood Company in Charlestown with his brother. Joe was a hard worker and although he had a quiet demeanor he got along well with his co-workers as well as his bosses. Joe worked at H. P. Hood for many years before changing occupations and he became an installer for an HVAC Company; unfortunately, after only a year into his new profession there was an accident at work and Joe was seriously injured when some equipment fell on him causing a brain injury and his ability to walk. Joe worked hard to get his strength back, he was confined to a wheelchair, but that never stopped him from going on to live a good life.
Along with Joe’s recovery came a lot of positive changes; his quiet demeanor was changed to a lively and fun personality, his ability to persevere through so many challenges was evident in everything he did, and his willingness to see the good in everyone made him such a bright light to those around him.
Following his accident, Joe moved with his family from Somerville to Medford and then they relocated to Wilmington in 2002 where Joe became a staple in his new community. He would be all over town in his motorized wheelchair with his American Flag flying high and a Dunkins coffee in hand. Joe was friendly and had a great sense of humor; always quick with a “one liner” or a compliment for all the pretty ladies. He was a “people person” who was so kind towards everyone he met and he will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Joe is survived by his siblings Dina Palmisano, Michael Marshall, Tom Marshall, and Frank Marshall, his children Joseph Marshall and Samantha Noseworthy, his grandchildren Elizabeth, Penelope, and Joel, his stepfather Anthony Palmisano, his sister-in-law Cheryl Marshall as well as his many nieces and nephews and his “fur babies” Nala and Jaxx.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Saturday, May 17th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a Service at 2:00 p.m.
