Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
Brain V. Dellascio, age 49, of North Chelmsford, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 24, 2025, following complications from heart surgery.
Brian was born on October 22, 1975, in Winchester, MA; he was the cherished only son of Arthur V. and Catherine “Cathy” (Gill) Dellascio of Wilmington. Brian was raised and educated in Wilmington where he made many life-long friends and was a graduate of Shawsheen Valley Technical High School with the Class of 1994. Brian went on to continue his education at Northeastern University in Boston, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design.
Raised in the joyful chaos of a big, loving family, Brian grew up along side his sister surrounded by laughter, cousins who became lifelong friends, and memories that shaped a life filled with humor, warmth and connection. He was known for his kind heart, warm spirit, and the way he could bring people together.
A lifelong Star Wars enthusiast, Brian was a fan of both the iconic galaxy far, far away and the heroes and villains who made it unforgettable. Whether it was collecting memorabilia, attending conventions or sharing favorite quotes, Brian found a sense of belonging in a universe that transcended time and space. The friendships he forged with fellow fans and the joy he found in the saga was a testament to the power of community and shared passions.
Brian also enjoyed a lifetime love of Legos. This love didn’t just reside in his childhood, it stayed with him throughout his life, offering a sense of peace and a way to express his creativity. He also spent his time woodworking, gaming, sampling craft beer, and was talented artist.
Brian met his amazing husband, Dan in 2000 & they were married on September 24, 2005. They spent the last 25 years creating a life & sharing a love that so many people only hope to have. They loved to travel, especially to visit & spend time with friends.
Driven by curiosity and an artistic spirit, Brian built a creative career that blended technical skill with true vision. As a UX Designer at Red Hat for the past 11 years, he found a place to shine – bringing vision, originality and heart to every project. More than a designer, Brian was a storyteller, a friend and inspiration to all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Brian was the embodiment of joy and laughter, always the first to crack a joke, share a goofy moment, and light up the world with his infectious energy. Whether he was on the dance floor or leading a conversation, he knew how to make everyone feel at ease, and most importantly, how to make them laugh. He showed us all what it means to truly live with courage, humor and resilience.
Despite facing immense health struggles, including a battle with cancer at just fifteen along with two subsequent cancer diagnoses, he never lost his sense of humor, his outgoing spirit or the ability to make people smile. His ability to find joy in the little things, to laugh in the face of adversity and to keep dancing through life’s hardest moments, will forever be a part of his legacy.
Brian may no longer be with us, but his spirit, his laughter and unwavering strength will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Rest in peace, Brian. You taught us all to find the joy even in the hardest times, dance like no one is watching and to never stop laughing.
Besides his parents who survive him, Brian leaves behind his beloved spouse Daniel W. Hildreth of North Chelmsford, MA, his sister Cheryl Moura and her husband Steve of Clayton, NC, and his special niece Alexandra Moura. Brian is further survived by his large extended family of many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
