LETTER: Select Board Chair Greg Bendel Endorses Kevin Caira For Select Board

Dear fellow residents,

It is with great confidence and enthusiasm that I write in support of Kevin Caira’s re-election to the Select Board. I have had the privilege of working alongside Kevin for the past nine years, and in that time, I have come to know him as a thoughtful, principled, and highly effective professional—someone deeply committed to the well-being of our community.

As a lifelong Wilmington resident, Kevin brings a personal connection and deep understanding of the town’s history, values, and needs. His roots here give him a unique perspective on the challenges we face and the opportunities ahead. That sense of connection is reflected in everything he does.

Kevin has volunteered countless hours over the years to support and strengthen our town. He currently serves on the Town’s Rink Committee, the Wildwood Building Committee, and the Town Hall/School Administration Building Committee—three critically important groups shaping Wilmington’s future. In each of these roles, Kevin brings steady leadership, thoughtful insight, and an unwavering commitment to public service.

Over the past nine years, Kevin has played a central role in several significant town accomplishments. He was instrumental in the hiring of a new Town Counsel, Town Manager, and Finance Director—key leadership decisions that continue to benefit Wilmington. His strong support for sound fiscal policy helped the town achieve a coveted AAA bond rating, a reflection of our financial strength and responsible governance.

Perhaps most importantly, Kevin has established himself as a strong, independent voice on the Select Board—someone who asks the tough questions, weighs every decision carefully, and always puts the interests of residents first. His ability to think critically, work collaboratively, and stand firm on matters of principle makes him a trusted and respected leader in our community.

Kevin brings not only a wealth of experience, but also a collaborative spirit and a clear sense of purpose to every initiative he undertakes. His ability to analyze challenges, consider different perspectives, and build consensus makes him exceptionally well-suited for continued leadership on the Select Board.
