LETTER: Former Selectman Mike Newhouse Endorses Kevin Caira For Select Board

Dear Editor,

It is a privilege to endorse Kevin Caira for re-election to the Wilmington Select Board.

As a member of the Board, Kevin has brought a number of valuable qualities to the table, which include his vast experience in municipal government, a practical understanding of how state government works (for better or worse, depending on the situation), and a fundamental appreciation for economic development. More importantly, however, he works hard, and he has established a unique and impressive track record of volunteerism that directly benefits the community in which we live.

From leading the Sons and Daughters of Italy of America, to coaching on the athletic fields of Wilmington; from attending countless meetings at Town Hall, to having one-on-one discussions with concerned residents; from advocating for the educational needs of our students, to leading the charge to expand Wilmington’s offerings and upgrade its facilities, Kevin Caira continues to build on an impressive history of passionate community service. In the end, I think it’s the single most important quality in an elected official.
