Dear Editor,
Today, I am sharing my support for the election of Jacob Gearwar to the Select Board. I believe Jacob has the right skills and mindset to serve as a successful leader in our town’s government.
Jacob, for the last several months, has worked to revitalize the Wilmington Economic Development Committee, where he serves as Chair. I am impressed by his vision for Wilmington and how he hopes to bring more commercial opportunities to town. His strong background in finance will complement our town’s philosophy of responsible fiscal management while leveraging our resources efficiently for all residents. He frequently attends meetings of several different committees to keep up with the many moving parts of our town government. Jacob thoroughly understands the current business of the town and will be successful in dealing with difficult decisions that come before the board.
Jacob also has the personal qualities to serve successfully as our next Select Board member. I have come to know him as an honest, friendly, and hard-working individual. His analytical, data-driven approach to all issues and his experience in leading teams of people in his field of work will be an asset to the Select Board. He is also a parent of three and has demonstrated to me that he is invested in the future of Wilmington.
In closing, with the qualities, experience, and motivation Jacob embodies, he is qualified to serve as a member of our Select Board. Please join me in electing Jacob Gearwar to the Select Board on Saturday, April 26.
Thank you,
Lilia Maselli
Member, Wilmington Select Board
