Dear Residents,
On Saturday, April 26, I kindly ask that you join me in voting for Jacob Gearwar to the Wilmington Select Board. If elected, he will help lead Wilmington in a positive direction in the years to come.
I first met Jacob last fall as we both joined the Economic Development Committee. We share an eagerness to serve as volunteers and find efficiencies to improve our town. Upon beginning my work with Jacob, I could instantly tell he was motivated to make a difference. He became Chair of the committee in October and has since worked to bring new initiatives to the committee. The committee has been working on reviewing bylaws and rules, and regulations for restaurants and establishments serving liquor. We have also been exploring methods to attract new businesses into town, and how else we can market Wilmington as a prime location for commercial activity. Our shared goal is to increase the vibrancy of the business community, ease the residential tax burden, and attract our neighbors to shop and dine in Wilmington. Should Jacob be elected to the Select Board, I have no doubts he will continue with this work.
Jacob and I both work in the world of finance, and I am confident that his expertise in budgeting, analysis, and management will be a valuable asset to the Select Board. As a young person, I strongly appreciate the history of fiscal responsibility Wilmington has carried on for many years. Jacob’s experience and background will help keep Wilmington financially stable while continuing to offer a myriad of services to residents at no cost. In addition, Jacob’s experience in corporate negotiations will come in handy when the Select Board is required to negotiate contracts and agreements with key stakeholders.
I encourage readers to watch the candidate debate from Thursday, April 17. Jacob laid out his visions for the town, listing several action-oriented steps to make his goals for the town a reality. With all that being said, please cast one of your two votes for Jacob Gearwar for Select Board. I am excited about the prospect of electing an engaging and energized leader to work for the great people of this community.
Respectfully submitted,
Joseph Maselli
