Dear Editor,
I am writing to share my full support for the re-election of Kevin Caira to the Select Board. Residents have the opportunity to re-elect a seasoned and knowledgeable leader to continue driving Wilmington in the right direction.
Kevin and I have worked together as colleagues on the Select Board since I became a member in 2021. Together, we have tackled the management of our town’s COVID recovery, overseeing the Town Hall & Senior Center construction, and navigating the MBTA Communities Act, to name a few of many. Additionally, Kevin and I led the subcommittee for negotiating the new town manager’s contract, which we were able to do successfully. He maintains a fiscally mindful approach to all project and budget matters. As a result, our town continues to provide many services, maintain a healthy balance sheet, and continues to benefit from our recently upgraded bond rating to AAA, the highest rating that can be issued.
Kevin approaches every issue that comes before the board with a thoughtful, analytical mindset, ensuring each decision is grounded in reason and insight. In addition, his 9-year experience on the board will guide the town in making decisions that are rooted in historical knowledge while taking into account the present affairs of our town. As an involved member of our community, including his involvement with the Sons & Daughters of Italy, Kevin will remain a steady and dedicated volunteer if re-elected to the board.
I am asking my fellow residents and neighbors to cast one of their votes for Kevin Caira for the Select Board. I have enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with Kevin, and hope this can continue after April 26.
Thank you,
Lilia Maselli
Member, Wilmington Select Board
