LETTER: School Committee Member David Ragsdale Endorses Jesse Fennelly For School Committee

Dear fellow Wilmington residents:

I’m writing to give my strong endorsement for Jesse Fennelly’s reelection to the Wilmington School Committee. Over the past six years, Jesse has shown unwavering dedication to the children and families of Wilmington. He has been deeply involved in every part of the school committee’s work from policy to budget to collective bargaining. For the past year, he has served as the Chair of the committee and led us skillfully through important work, from advancing the elementary school building project to preparing to hire an interim superintendent.

Jesse is independent-minded and not afraid to respectfully disagree with other members of the committee. He asks smart questions and makes good points. He’s also not afraid to stay quiet if others have already asked the questions he would have asked or made the points he would have made. He doesn’t need to hear his own voice.

As a parent with two kids in the Wilmington schools, Jesse wants the same thing for everyone’s kids that he wants for his own: a district where every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Someone like Jesse Fennelly is exactly the kind of person that you want serving on the school committee. He’s a good man, a good leader, and someone who not only puts in the hours but also puts his heart into the work.

I encourage all Wilmington voters to join me in casting one of your School Committee votes for Jesse Fennelly on April 26.

Sincerely,

David Ragsdale

Member, Wilmington School Committee
