OBITUARY: Kevin A. Longo, 64

WILMINGTON, MA — Kevin A. Longo, age 64, of Santa Maria, CA, formerly of Wilmington, MA, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2025.

Kevin was born on April 17, 1960; he was the dear son of the late Robert “Connie” and Zella (Peters) Longo. Kevin was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1978. Following graduation, Kevin enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Samuel Gompers out of San Diego, CA, as a hull maintenance technician. Kevin received the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; he was honorably discharged from active duty in 1982 and went on to serve with the Naval Reserves until February of 1984.

Kevin returned home to Massachusetts to be with family, but he fell in love with California while stationed there; ultimately, he went back and forth a few times before making Santa Maria, CA, his home for the last 20 plus years.

Kevin is survived by his daughters Alexis Bainbridge of St. Charles, MO and Adriana Keller of Richland, WA, his siblings John A. Longo and his wife Joanne of Sudbury, MA, Stephen P. Longo and his wife Linda Zimmerman of Andover, MA, William J. Longo and his wife Marie of Wilmington, MA, Peter P. Longo and his wife Laurie of Malden, MA, and the late Robert J. Longo, Jr. He is further survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Thursday, April 17th, for Visitation from 11:00 -12:00 with a Graveside Service and Military Honors in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA, at 12:00 noon.
