Below is a press release from Emerson College via Merit:

BOSTON, MA — Emerson College student Maddie Wright, of Wilmington, served as 2nd Assistant State Manager in Emerson Stage’s production of I Love XXX from February 5-8 at the Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre in Boston.

Written by Meng Jinghui, Shi Hang, Wang Xiaoli, and Huang Jingang, and directed by Tushar Mathew and Alison Qu, with translation by Claire Conceison. The play examines and questions the role of individual to the collective in post-socialist society and China’s effort to resolve its past and look to the future. The work has no cast or characters, and every iteration is a unique improvisation based on the phrase “I Love” by its collective ensemble.

Emerson Stage and the Department of Performing Arts are where the next generation of actors, designers, stage managers, technicians, administrators, and educators work alongside distinguished faculty, professional staff, and visiting artists to bring skills learned in the classroom to vibrant life on stage.
