CANDIDATE ANNOUNCEMENT: Mallory Mahoney Announces Election Campaign For School Committee

Hello fellow residents!

I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Wilmington School Committee! As a parent, professional and community member, I am eager to contribute to the continued success of Wilmington Public Schools.

My family and I moved to Wilmington in 2019, after neighborhood-hopping around Boston for several years. We chose Wilmington for its welcoming small-town feel – perfect for raising our two young daughters, who are currently a first-grader at Shawsheen, and a pre-schooler.

As my day job, I have a long career in product management in healthcare technology. My role involves understanding and evaluating complex, high-cost software projects – work that requires relationship building, creative problem solving and strategic planning. These are the same skills that I will bring to the School Committee to ensure thoughtful decision-making, resource prioritization, and long-term value for our community.

I also moonlight as a volunteer with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop, a rugby player with a local club, and a health & wellness enthusiast. I love collaborating with others, and I bring that energy and positive attitude to everything I do. In both my professional and personal pursuits, I am always focused on finding solutions that balance various needs and make a true impact.

This year, I am committed to making a difference for the Wilmington Public Schools. I believe that education is the cornerstone of a vibrant and resilient society, and schools should prepare every child for a successful future. We need to provide opportunities – whether academic, athletic, artistic or civic – that will help our students thrive in a rapidly changing world. This year the School Committee will make significant decisions with lasting impacts on the educational experience of our students, and our broader community. I would welcome the opportunity to represent your views throughout this decision-making.

Instead of spending money on campaign signs, I have instead made a $500 donation to the “Yes for Wilmington Schools” campaign. This aligns with typical spending on yard signs, but will better serve our community by supporting projects that will benefit generations of Wilmington students.

If my message resonates with you, I encourage you to share with your neighbors and friends. You can follow my Facebook Page – Mallory Mahoney for Wilmington School Committee. And most importantly, please vote for me on Saturday, April 26th!
