Wilmington Town Museum To Celebrate 250th Anniversary Of The Wilmington Minutemen With Commemoration Event On March 23

Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Town Museum:

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Town Museum, with support from the Wilmington Minutemen Company, will be hosting the 250th Anniversary Commemoration Event for the creation of the Wilmington Minute Men on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from noon to 4pm, at the Museum (430 Salem Street).

On March 6, 1775, Wilmington’s Selectboard voted to establish a standing minuteman company. Just weeks later, on the morning of April 19, 1775, the Wilmington Minute Men and town Militia mustered near the Meetinghouse and marched onto the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Menotomy.

To honor this legacy, the Wilmington Minutemen will hold their Installation of Officers Ceremony, featuring guest speakers and a special reception at the Museum.
