Below is an obituary from O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home:
TAUNTON, MA — Leann (Downs) Taylor, age 60, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, at Morton Hospital on Monday, February 3rd 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
Leann was married to her beloved husband John Taylor for 38 years. She is the cherished mother to three daughters Emily Taylor (35) Jill Taylor (34) and Molly Taylor (27). She was also a proud dog mom to Sadie and Bam.
Leann was born in Winchester, MA and is the daughter of Charlotte (Noonan) Downs and the late Clifton Downs. She is the sister to Jeff Downs and his wife Lisa of Foxboro, Ron Downs of Mansfield and the late Jayne Downs and late Clifton Downs Jr. She was survived by her nephews Zachary, Connor, Paxton, Jason and Jeremy and many other nieces and nephews.
Leann grew up in Wilmington, MA where she enjoyed spending time with her aunts, uncles and cousins. She then resided in Mansfield, MA where she graduated high school and went on to raise her family.
One of Leann’s greatest qualities was how committed she was to her family. She loved spending nearly every minute of every day with her husband while she gave him small tasks to keep him busy. She was always there for her daughters being their number one supporter. Leann attended every dance recital, dance competition, theater performance and choir show. You could always count on her for an honest review in the car ride home. She also enjoyed cheering on her nephews at sporting events. Along with her daughters and husband, Leann dedicated her time as the manager and dance mom to her Showstoppin’ families. She adored each and every family that walked through the studio door and treated them like her own. Leann always made sure every child was able to dance.
Leanns’ light will continue to shine on and will be missed by all of her beloved family, friends and Showstoppers.
A graveside service will be held at Spring Brook Cemetery, 47 Coral Street in Mansfield on Thursday, February 13th at 2PM, followed by a celebration of life at 12 Dale Street in Taunton at 4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, we ask families and friends to make donations to Showstoppin’ Dance Studio to provide scholarships for dancers, as Leann believed every child who wants to dance should have the chance to dance.
