African Wrap Doll Making Workshop – Experience the Art of the African Wrap Doll
Wednesday, February 19, 6pm
Participants will learn about African wrap dolls from staff from the National Black Doll Museum and create a doll to take home! Materials will be provided. This program is for all ages.
Novel Ideas

Enjoy reading fiction? Join the library’s fiction book group led by Adult Services Librarian Erin Driscoll. Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of the featured book. This month’s featured book is The Cliffs by J. Courtney Sullivan.
Needleworkers

Maple Sugaring with Land’s Sake Farm
Tuesday, February 18, 3pm
Learn about the local tradition of turning maple sap into maple syrup! This program includes a maple sugaring themed story time, opportunities to touch and explore the tools Land’s Sake Farms uses to make maple syrup, and the chance to use hand drills to tap a demonstration log. Learn history, science, social studies, and a new skill, all in one program! Preschool – 2nd grade
Anti-Valentine’s Day Party

Sick of love songs? Tired of people talking about nothing but romance? Come join us at our Anti-Valentine’s Day Party, where we’ll mix up anti-love potions, make cards to express our not-so-lovey feelings, and destroy some stuffed animals to make Frankentoys! Black clothing and dour expressions are encouraged, but Valentine’s Day fans are welcome as well. Grades 6-12
Music and Movement with Thom Mystic Early Intervention (Waitlist Only)

Join Thom Mystic Early Intervention for this fun music and movement playgroup! Enjoy free motor play and a structured music circle time led by a music therapist. They will use songs, movement, and instruments to increase peer socialization, imitation skills, language development, sensory integration, and motor skills. Ages 15 months – 5 years

Teen DnD

Looking for a group to play with? Join us for in person Dungeons and Dragons at the library. You may also participate on Discord, a private server. We use DnDBeyond or physical sheets to track and create our characters. You must attend a D&D 101 session at the library before joining our campaign. These sessions are held monthly on the second Tuesday evening. Grades 6-12
Pets & People: Therapy Dogs and Cats

Come hang out with therapy dogs from Pets & People Foundation at WML! Cats may also be in attendance. Register to receive reminders and let us know you’re coming, but feel free to drop by as well! Grades 6-12

Wilmington Memorial Library is hosting best-selling novelist Chris Bohjalian whose newest book The Jackal’s Mistress comes out in March! This first event in our new offsite author series will feature a presentation by Mr. Bohjalian, book sales/signing, a cash bar, and light refreshments. Registration begins in late March.
New Library Hours
Wilmington Memorial Library has updated its hours! We are open Monday through Thursday from 9 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. and Friday/Saturday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Stop by and check out what’s new—we can’t wait to see you!
Laminate and Shred Your Documents at the Library!
We now have a laminator and paper shredder set up in our front foyer. They are free to use and we can provide laminating sheets.
Wilmington Mirror Digital Archive
Wilmington Memorial Library recently collaborated with the Harnden Tavern to digitize 98 issues of the Wilmington Mirror newspaper, a precursor to the Wilmington Crusader and Town Crier. The newly digitized issues span the 1930s and 1940s, are searchable, and can be viewed on the library’s website or by going to bit.ly/wilmingtonmirror.
Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is open Saturdays from 10am – 4pm. In January and February, the store is closed Wednesdays. Wednesday hours will resume March 5th.
Museum Passes

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.
WML Virtual Programming
