OBITUARY: Robert S. McCoy, 62

WILMINGTON, MA — Robert S. McCoy, “Bob,” age 62, of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on February 1, 2025, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Bob was born on February 15, 1962, in Brighton, MA; he was the cherished son of the late Ronald M. and Josephine A. (Miceli) McCoy. Bob was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1980.

Bob was employed as an HVAC Technician at MWRA. He was also a proud entrepreneur and business owner, but he was best known for his pizza shops. He was the former owner of Pizza Mia in Tewksbury, Wilmington, and Lowell, Piezano’s in Tewksbury, and Pizza Guys in North Reading. Bob had lasting relationships with his employees, with many of them turning into lifelong friends. He was passionate about always giving back to the community and participating in local events. Bob also enjoyed going to Wells Beach, Maine with his family and friends and grilling by the pool.

Bob was the beloved and devoted father of Nicolette (McCoy) Moisan and her husband Matthew Moisan of Wilmington and Janenne McCoy of Wakefield. He was the loving “Papa” of Cole Matthew Moisan. He is survived by his former wife and friend Janice McCoy of Tewksbury. Dear brother of Vinny McCoy and partner Denise Fortin of Dracut, Deborah Huebner of Tewksbury, Michael McCoy and wife Danielle McCoy of Wilmington, and the late Ronnie “Junior” McCoy. Uncle to Brett McCoy & fiance Victoria Hanson of Wilmington and Shelby (McCoy) Wolf & husband Carlson Wolf of Billerica. He was deeply cherished by his loving partner Sharon Pellerin of Wilmington. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his best friends Kirk Keller and wife Donna Keller of Methuen & Chad Previte and wife Holly Previte of Burlington.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Wednesday, February 5th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, February 6th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
