OBITUARY: Cheryl L. (Gerakines) Moulaison, 66

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Cheryl L. Moulaison (Gerakines), age 66, of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, with her family at her side.

Cheryl was born in Boston on September 5, 1958 to a loving, welcoming family. She grew up on Veranda Ave in Wilmington and later settled in Tewksbury. The place that was most special to her was York Beach, Maine, where she vacationed for many summers.

Cheryl had an adventurous spirit and was the life of the party. She found humor even in the worst of situations and was always the first person to help in times of need. Her door was always open to anyone.

She was a whiz at crossword puzzles, could recite any and all family birthdays from memory, as well quote the entirety of her favorite movie, Jaws. She enjoyed true crime and Diet Pepsi–never, ever, Diet Coke–and even though she didn’t drink, she boasted a large collection of shot glasses from around the world. You could not visit a new place without a request to bring one back with you.

She was preceded in death by her mother and best friend Barbara, her father Stephen, her beloved brother James, and dear nephew Justin.

Her lasting legacy is her four children, and two grandsons to whom she was called “Mammie.” She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to countless, and made an impression on all those who knew her.

Cheryl was the beloved wife of Kenneth M. Moulaison, devoted mother of James P. Strand of Stoneham, formerly of Tewksbury, Laura J. Strand of Billerica, formerly of Tewksbury, Kenneth P. Moulaison and Eric J. Moulaison both of Tewksbury. Loving “Mammie” of Jack and Aiden Descoteaux, cherished daughter of the late Stephen and Barbara (Alexander) Gerakines, dear sister of Stephen Gerakines Jr. and wife Jeanne of Pelham, NH, Perry Gerakines and wife Suzanne of Crofton, MD, Timothy Gerakines and wife Pamela of Dover, NH, Keri Fabianek and husband Shane of Merrimack, NH, and Joseph Gerakines and wife Elyse of Westminster. Cheryl was a special granddaughter of the late Ida and Kenneth Alexander and is further survived by a large and wonderful extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Sunday, February 2nd from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
