Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Sandra B. Pastore-LaScola, “Sandi”, age 78, of Pelham, NH, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2025, with her family at her side after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Sandi was born on January 4, 1947, in Meriden, CT; she was the cherished daughter of the late Colonel (Ret.) Thomas and Gertrude (Benish) McKeon. Sandi was raised and educated across the nation as her father was active military. She graduated from Dentsville High School in Columbia, SC. Sandi went on to further her education earning her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ursuline College in Louisville, KY.
Sandi met Tony Pastore; the couple married and moved to Wilmington, MA, where they raised their family and shared many wonderful times together before his untimely passing in 1993. Sandi was very devoted to her family; she loved being a mom and always encouraged her family to follow their dreams. Sandy cherished the time she spent with family especially her grandchildren whom she adored. Sandi loved to catalogue her family experiences and celebrations through photos that she carefully arranged in her many albums.
Sandi had many talents; she was an amazing cook and baker, and her Christmas cookies were a family favorite. She had a creative side where she adored meticulously decorating her home for every dinner party to holiday to special event. Sandi’s green thumb was evident inside and outside her home with the beautiful flower gardens she created and a very lush lawn.
Sandi worked hard throughout her life; for many years she owned and operated her house cleaning company. Sandi’s endearing personality and honesty drew people to her, and she was quite successful throughout the years.
Sandi found love again when she met and married Anthony LaScola; the couple shared many great times together and enjoyed being “snowbirds” in Hudson, Florida, where they made some wonderful friends. Sandi and Tony loved to travel the world; they enjoyed seeing new places, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and collecting memorabilia wherever they went.
Sandi will be fondly remembered for many things; she was easy going, loved the simple life, and for her love of family and friends. She had a passion for animals especially her cats. Sandi loved to hit the dance floor. She was a social butterfly and always made sure everyone had a good time. Most of all she will be remembered for her beauty inside and out, her beaming smile and her heart of gold. Sandi will forever live on in the lives of those she touched.
Sandi was the beloved wife of Anthony LaScola, devoted mother of Michael Pastore both of Pelham, NH. She was the loving “Grandma” of Zachary, Brandon, Joshua, and Alyvia Walsh. Dear sister of Thomas McKeon, Jr. and his wife Martha, special “Auntie” of Price McKeon, Bri Anne Palmer and Sabino Angelico. Sandi is further survived by her extended family and many friends.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
