Adult Programs

Bookends Book Group
Monday, January 27, 10am
This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca Lowe. Copies of the book are available at the library. This month’s featured books are James by Percival Everett and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, January 27, 6pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. This group meets every Monday in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the library.

HYBRID Hearing Aid Tips & Tricks
Monday, January 27, 7pm
Technology librarian Brad McKenna has been wearing hearing aids for almost twenty years. He gets the discussion started by showing what technologies he finds helpful. The discussion isn’t limited to just technology. He’ll also share practical advice, like asking people to rephrase not repeat, and what’s involved in getting hearing aids in the first place. This hybrid monthly meeting is a place for people to trade tips and tricks on how to get the most out of their hearing aids. The meeting can be attended in-person or virtually via Zoom.

VIRTUAL Playful Pathways: Parent Book Club
Wednesday, January 29, 7pm
This new monthly book club will cover the 7 essential life skills featured in Ellen Galinsky’s book The Mind in the Making. Because this event will be held via Zoom, children are welcome to be in attendance. A copy of the book will be provided for 20 registrants, however, if the program fills up and you would still like to attend, please feel free to register for the waitlist and acquire the book or borrow it from the library system. An email with the link will be sent to the registered and waitlisted attendees at least one hour before the event. The Zoom link will be the same for each month of the program. This book club is recommended for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-5.

Coffeehouse Concert Series: Marina & Berna
Thursday, January 30, 6:30pm
Marina and Berna are an international folk/americana duo who divide their time between Marina’s native New England and Bernardo’s native Italy. Combining Marina’s sultry vocals & unusual melodies with the gritty edge of Bernardo’s slide guitar, soulful voice, and the sweet interjections of his mandolin, the duo’s sound has been refined over years together on the road, the stage, and in the studio. As a solo act, Marina has supported such greats as LeAnn Rimes, Judy Collins, and Dar Williams. Together, the pair has captivated audiences across the United States and in Europe.

Needleworkers
Friday, January 31, 9am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

Wilmington Community Playgroup

The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join CTI for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. The first playgroup of every month will focus on infants and toddlers. Ages 0-6

STEAM Team

Learn and have fun at the same time in this engaging STEAM program! Grades K-5

Preschool Storytime

Teen Group Volunteering: Cardmaking

Looking for extra volunteer hours? Make greeting cards for Wilmington seniors and get community service hours! The cards will be delivered as part of the Home Delivered Meals program through the Buzzell Senior Center. Grades 6-12

Time for Twos

Join us at our Time for Twos! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Age 2

Early Release Cookie Decorating
Wednesday, January 29, 1pm
Using frosting and your imagination, decorate cookies after the WPS early release day! Grades 6-12

Read to Stormy (Waitlist Only)
Thursday, January 30, 4pm
Practice your reading skills with Therapy Dog, Stormy! Sign up for one 15-minute session per child or family. Grades K-6

Playful Pathways: Various Vegetables
Friday, January 31, 11am
Practice early literacy skills like focus, self-control, and taking on challenges during this week’s Various Vegetables program! As part of our Food and Nutrition Unit of Playful Pathways, we will be hosting a “fun with food” event! Pop around to stations around the room and create shape-pizzas, practice vocabulary and recognition skills, and play food-related memory and sorting games! Ages 0-5

Take Your Child to the Library Drop-In Storytime
Saturday, February 1, 10am
Join us for a special Drop-In Storytime to celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. There is no registration required for this event, however it will be limited to the first 20 participants that arrive. Ages 2-6

Project Valentine with Junior WOW
Saturday, February 1, 1pm
Drop-in between 1-3pm to decorate valentines with Junior WOW for Wilmington’s Project Valentine! All ages

New Library Hours
Wilmington Memorial Library has updated its hours! We are open Monday through Thursday from 9 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. and Friday/Saturday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Stop by and check out what’s new—we can’t wait to see you!

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door will be open only on Saturdays from 10am – 4pm in January and February. Wednesday hours will begin again on March 5th. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list by visiting wilmlibrary.org/services/mp.

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
