WILMINGTON, MA — Anthony L. Gibbons, “Leo”, age 86, of Haverhill, formerly a resident of Wilmington, Treasure Island, and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2025.
Leo was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. (Silva) Gibbons, devoted father of Maria Gibbons of Haverhill, loving “Vo” of Courtney Bay & her wife MeKenna and Matthew Rita & his fiancée Teagan Allen, cherished son of the late Anthony M. and Anne (Ward) Gibbons, dear brother of Mary Lou Gullage & her husband James of Braintree, the late Anne Lynch, William Gibbons and James Gibbons. Leo is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as his favorite four legged Pal, Brewski.
Leo proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for over twenty-one years.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, January 14th where visiting hours will take place from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Family and friends will gather together again on Wednesday, January 15th at 9:30 a.m. at Nichols Funeral Home immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorial donations in Leo’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
