WILMINGTON, MA — Abundant Life Christian School (ALCS), a Kindergarten through eighth grade school located in Wilmington, is pleased to announce they have been conferred foundational accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International.
Accreditation is a voluntary process. A school or program that commits to striving for accreditation is agreeing to a process of ongoing review to achieve excellence through strengthening and improving the effectiveness of the organization and the quality of instruction for the populations it serves.
Accreditation aims to assess the school’s performance in foundational areas of Christian education:
- Bible Knowledge and Biblical Worldview
- Academic Excellence
- Life Skills and Practical Application of Knowledge
- Character building and Spiritual Formation
The ACSI accreditation process is a multi year one that involves:
- Self-assessment
- Peer review
- Evaluating the fulfillment of the school’s mission
- Meeting academic standards as set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ACSI standards
The school or program will need to identify the data and evidence, as well as document the results that ensure and conrm that it is meeting or exceeding each of ACSI’s standards.
The Christian school and Childcare at Abundant Life were founded in 1982 and have grown to currently serve more than 200 students, aged 8 weeks through 8th grade, residing in over 20 cities and towns across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The Association of Christian Schools international (ACSI), headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was founded in 1978. They offer multiple services, including teacher and administrator certification, school accreditation, legal/legislative help, and curriculum publishing. Their reach impacts more than 5.5 million students worldwide at approximately 2,200 member schools in the United States (preschool to grade 12), more than 160 international member schools (preschool to grade 12), 70 member Christian colleges and universities, and an additional 25,000 Christian schools served across the globe through its services and resources.
As of August 2024, ACSI has been granted full recognition status by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). This prestigious recognition armed the association’s commitment to maintaining high standards of educational excellence, integrity, and accountability in private Christian education. To obtain this, ACSI participated in a rigorous evaluation process, which confirms that ACSI meets the stringent criteria set by NCPSA for accrediting private schools.
