WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Thursday, December 26, 2024:
- The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks is holding its annual children’s throw contest (“Hoop Shot”) at the Wynn Middle School in Tewksbury (1 Griffin Way). Free registration begins at 6pm. The contest begins at 6:30pm. Participants will take 25 free throws from an age-appropriate foul line. There will be six categories — Boys 8-9, Girls 8-9, Boys 10-11, Girls 10-11, Boys 12-13, and Girls 12-13. A participant’s age is based on how old they will be on April 1, 2025.
- Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a Red Cross Blood Drive from 11am to 4pm. Interested donors can call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to book an appointment. Donors can also visit http://www.redcross.org to schedule an appointment.
- The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding the following activities: Hiking Group (9am); Gentle Yoga (9am); Art (9:45am); Crocheting & Knitting (10:30am); Ceramics (1:30pm); and Functionally Fit (2pm). Learn more HERE.
- The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding the following events and activities: Tech Help One-on-One with Eric (10am); Super Smash Brothers Tournament for Grades 3-5 (2:30pm).
- TEXTILES WANTED: The Wilmington Educational Foundation has partnered with Baystate Textiles to raise funds through an ongoing textile recycling rebate program. Bag up any of your unwanted footwear, clothing, accessories, linens and stuffed animals and place them in the donation boxes located outside each of Wilmington’s public schools. Donations can be in any condition as long as they’re clean and dry. The Wilmington Educational Foundation will receive a rebate of $100 for every ton of textiles collected. WEF earns thousands of dollars each year from this fundraiser.
