OBITUARY: Clayton J. L. Wentzell Sr., 91

WILMINGTON, MA — Clayton J. L. Wentzell, Sr., “Clay”, age 91, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away at his home on December 3, 2024.

Clay was born in Cambridge, MA, on March 12, 1933; he was the cherished only son of the late Clayton and Myrtle (Eisnor) Wentzell.

Clay proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was an electrician and 68-year member of the IBEW Local Union #103 in Boston. Clay was also a founding member of the Wilmington Sons of Italy. Clay was always out and about helping others and made many friends wherever he went. Clay enjoy traveling with Alice in their rv from Florida to Nova Scotia visiting with family and friends. Clay enjoy doing craft projects and giving them away.

Clay was very devoted to his family and was always so proud of their accomplishments. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Kelley) Wentzell, devoted dad of Clayton Wentzell Jr. and his wife Diane of Wilmington, Katherine Trebino and her late husband Edmund Jr. of Tewksbury, Jared Wentzell and his wife Lisa of Atkinson, NH, the late Blaise Wentzell of Wilmington, Dereck Wentzell and his wife Theresa of Pelham, NH, and Daren Wentzell and his wife Lisa of Hudson, NH. Loving “Pup” of many special grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Barbara Leary of Peabody, the late Anita Wells, and the late Joan Ricks. He is further survived by his nieces, nephews, and friends.

At Clay’s request all services will be private.
