WILMINGTON, MA — Juanita Daley (McMahon), “Nita”, age 85, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
Juanita was born on December 8, 1939, in Somerville, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late Frederick and Violet (Meehan) McMahon.
Nita was a beloved wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother. She was devoted to her family and often said caring for her grandchildren were the best years of her life.
She was a lifelong lover of animals, especially cats; all of her cats were strays that were lucky enough to find her.
Nita loved reading and books and belonged to two book clubs for over 40 years. She was well known at the local library. She always loved country music – John Denver was a favorite.
She and her devoted husband David loved to cruise and went on over 50 cruises with family and friends.
Nita enjoyed movies with friends, planting flowers in her garden, dinners with her husband and friends and spending time with her family.
Nita was a caring and giving person and will be greatly missed.
Juanita was the beloved wife of David Daley, devoted mother of David Dunbar and his wife Denise of Chelmsford and Susan Andella and her husband Joseph of Tewksbury. Loving “Nana” of Kyle Dunbar and his wife Kasey, Lyndsey Hammond and her husband Patrick, Rachel Grabar and her fiancé Ryan Joyal, Eric Grabar and his significant other Ellen Boyle, and her Great-Grandchildren Sydney, Mackenzie, Timothy, Beau, and Callen. Dear sister of Lorraine Brinton and her husband Bob, Bradford Gibbons, the late Fred McMahon, the late Gertrude Enos, and the late Gail Indelicato. Juanita is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, December 16th for Visitation from 12:00-1:45 which will conclude with a prayer service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Juanita’s memory may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114 or to a Charity of Your Choice.
