OBITUARY: Susan Jean “Sue” (Serrentino) Liston, 63

WILMINGTON, MA — Susan Jean (Serrentino) Liston, “Sue”, age 63, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on December 7, 2024.

Sue was born on May 15, 1961, in Winchester MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Rosario “Roy” and Jean (Edmester) Serrentino. Sue was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School in 1979. She earned her associate degree from Middlesex Community College.

Sue married Salvi Liston on St. Patrick’s Day 1984. They moved several times, living in Florida, Georgia and Texas. They eventually settled back in Wilmington.

Sue was very proud to be a full-time mom and later she worked at Merrimack College for more than fifteen years. Sue’s home was always full of warmth and busy with activity. Sue made friends easily and was loyal to all of them.

Sue loved spending time with her family; She was delighted when she became “Gigi” to Rachel and Trey. She was so happy that she was able to spend time baking cookies with them. Boating was a big part of her life, and she got great satisfaction spending time out on the ocean and with her many great friends at the Newburyport Yacht Club.

Sue was the beloved wife of William J. “Salvi” Liston, devoted mother of Jennifer Liston of Lawrence and William J. Liston, II & his wife Molly of Nashua, NH, loving “Gigi” of William J. Liston, III (Trey) and Rachel Liston, sister of Alan Serrentino & his wife Susan of Pelham, NH.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, December 13th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 95 Woburn Street, Reading, on Saturday, December 14th at 10:00 a.m. Please go directly to church.
