WILMINGTON, MA — Kathleen (Golden) Major, “Kathy”, age 79, of Norwalk, CT, formerly of Wilmington, MA, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Kathleen was born on October 7, 1945 in South Bend, IN to Barbara and Kenneth Golden.
Kathleen is survived by Peter, her husband of 54 years. She also leaves behind her brother Steven Golden and his wife Jum. Kathy will also be missed by her son David, his wife Jamie, and her grandchildren Ava and Ella.
Kathleen graduated from New England Baptist Hospital Nursing School and was a practicing Registered Nurse at Winchester Hospital, specializing in pediatric nursing for over 45 years.
Kathy was a very active member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making a joyful noise by singing in the church choir for many years. Kathleen was a member of the Women’s group in the church where she participated in numerous church fairs and trips.
Her friends enjoyed her because of her cheerfulness. She was always laughing or smiling. One of her many joys were her granddaughters Ava and Ella and Kathy was in her glory when she was with them.
Throughout her life she was comforted by her beloved dogs including Friskie, Bugle, Leia and Meghan.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, December 6th from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church Street, (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, December 7th at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
