WILMINGTON, MA — Catherine Leona Mallinson of Tewksbury, formerly of Woburn, passed away on the evening of Monday, October 21, at CareOne in Wilmington after a brief illness. She was 82 years old.
Born and raised in Woburn, she was one of twelve children of the late Walter and Leona (Cyr) Hicks.
Cathy worked at Winchester Nursing Home and Portex Manufacturing in Wilmington. She loved talking on the phone with her family and had a passion for reading. She often watched classic films such as It’s a Wonderful Life, and reality television. Cathy also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and eating chocolate fudge. Above all, she cherished the moments when her family was together.
Cathy was the wife of the late Kenneth Mallinson Sr. and is preceded in death by her son, the late Kenneth Mallinson Jr., and her eleven brothers and sisters. Cathy is survived by her sons: Robert Little and his wife, Sheila, of Wilmington; Arthur Little and his partner, Shari, of Royalston; Mark Little and his wife, Maria, of Dracut; and Derek Mallinson of Wilmington and his partner, Julie. Cathy is also survived by ten grandchildren: Bryan, Keith, Arthur Jr., Corey, and Amanda Little; Ashley Deignan; Markie Pereira; and Nicole, Kevin, and Tommy Mallinson. She is survived by three great-grandchildren, Lucy, Connor, and Jack. Additionally, she is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, October 25th for Visiting Hours from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
