We are excited to bring you the latest update on the progress of our beloved Wilmington Senior Center! The construction team has been hard at work, and we have some significant developments to share with you.
Masonry Work Completed:
The Masons have completed installing the beautiful stonework on the exterior of the building, which is giving the Senior Center a warm, inviting appearance. They are now focusing on constructing the fireplaces and working on the signage out front, which will add a welcoming touch for everyone visiting the center.
Plumbing and Electrical Rough-In Completed:
Both the plumbing and electrical systems have passed the rough-in stage, meaning all the foundational work for these critical systems is done. The plumbers and electricians will return after the tiling, sheetrock, and taping are completed, which is scheduled to take place over the next two weeks. Once these steps are done, they will finalize the fixtures and complete the finishing touches.
HVAC Systems Installation:
The HVAC systems have been roughed in, and the teams are now working in the attic to install the ductwork and other components. These systems will ensure the building is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable environment for all the activities and services planned for the Senior Center.
Fire Suppression System Nearing Completion:
The fire suppression system is almost fully installed throughout the building. The only remaining area to be completed is the lobby, which will be finished soon. Once done, this system will ensure the safety of everyone who visits and works at the Senior Center.
Parking Area Paved and Sidewalk Work Underway:
We are happy to report that the parking area has been fully paved, making it ready for future visitors. Crews are now working on the sidewalks, which will improve accessibility and safety around the building.
Exterior Façade Progressing Smoothly:
The work on the exterior façade is coming along very well. The team is focused on completing the finishing touches, and we anticipate that the entire façade will be done by the middle of next month. This will mark a major milestone in the overall appearance and readiness of the building.
Roof Installation Almost Complete:
The roof has been shingled 90%, with only the area over the lobby still needing to be finished. Once the roof is fully complete, the building will be weather-tight, allowing us to continue interior work without any weather-related interruptions.
These updates highlight the continued momentum on-site, as we remain on schedule to complete the Wilmington Senior Center. As always, we will keep the community informed with regular progress updates as we move closer to our goal of creating a welcoming, accessible space for our seniors.
