OBITUARY: Elizabeth Green Fogg, 92

WAKEFIELD, NH — Elizabeth Green Fogg, 92, of Wakefield, NH, passed away at her home Saturday, October 19, 2024. She was born May 14, 1932 in Portland, ME, the daughter of Harold Edgar and Irene Libby Green.

She graduated from Deering High School in 1950 and from Gorham State Teachers College in 1954 and was a kindergarten teacher in Bangor. She married Charles Edgar Fogg on August 2, 1958. They resided in Wilmington, MA, Yarmouth, ME, and Fairfax, VA before retiring to Wakefield, NH.

Elizabeth was a beloved member of the First Congregational Church of Wakefield, NH UCC, active in her home church and at the state level. She was a former Deacon and a Sage (and past president) of the Parish Helpers (women’s fellowship group). She served on the Committee on Church and Ministry, participated in the Prayer Shawl Ministry, and volunteered at the Treasure Shop (Parish Helpers’ secondhand store). She was a long-time volunteer at the Wakefield Food Pantry.

She was a caring friend to many near and far. She loved to travel and was proud to have visited all 50 states, most Canadian provinces, western Europe, Australia, and Morocco. She enjoyed attending plays at many regional theater companies, and she also loved Scrabble, jigsaw puzzles, her birdfeeders, her fireplace, and her programs and Hallmark movies.

Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother who always put family first. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie and her brother Robert Libby Green. She is survived by her son, Nathan R. Fogg of Wakefield (wife Deborah), her daughter, Andrea F. Brady (husband Larry) of Sabattus, ME, her stepson Lloyd C. Fogg of West Milan, her two stepdaughters, Judy D. Fogg (husband Richard) and Sarah L. Fogg, both of Northampton, MA, as well as 8 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, her nephew Ronald Nichols, her nieces Lorna Frenette, Sally Hussey, and Karen Dube, sister-in-law Sandra Green, and beloved cousins, and their children.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, at the First Congregational Church of Wakefield, NH – UCC. Refreshments will be provided in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook, Maine at the convenience of the family.
