LIBRARY NEWS: Wilmington Library To Hold 12 Programs Next Week, Including Life Skills with the Academy of Traditional Karate On October 22

Adult Programs

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, October 21, 6pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. Now meeting every Monday in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the Library.

Tinkercad and 3D Printing (Waitlist Only)
Monday, October 21, 6:30pm
Come watch a bookmark be 3D Printed and design your own in Tinkercad. Due to time constraints, your bookmark will be printed later. Feel free to bring your own laptop.

VIRTUAL Creative Writing Skills Group

Learn and apply creative writing tips, tools, and techniques shared by published authors and other writing experts. Open to all who want to improve their writing skills and get their work published. Armchair Travel to Southern Sicily

Join Jeff Klapes for an armchair trip to Southern Sicily. While technically a part of Italy, Sicily has a distinct culture, dialect, cuisine, and attitude that makes it a place apart.

Needleworkers
Friday, October 25, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

Youth Programs

Bilingual Story Hour
Monday, October 21, 10am
Each month, Community Teamwork will read a story in a non-English language. We encourage parents to join us and participate in whatever language they speak. At the playgroup participants will work on Early Literacy skills and more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. If you are interested in volunteering to help lead a Bilingual Story Hour, please reach out to Chris Cole, CTI’s CFCE Supervisor, at ccole@commteam.org. Ages 0-6

Life Skills with the Academy of Traditional Karate
Tuesday, October 22, 6pm
Join the Academy of Traditional Karate in this fun and interactive class! Children will learn basic karate moves, burn some energy moving, and talk about important life skills like focus, respect and stranger safety. Ages 5-12

Boo Bash Halloween Party
Wednesday, October 23, 5:30pm
Wear your costume and come by for a wacky evening of Halloween games and activities! Ages 0-11

Sensory Discovery for Teens
Friday, October 25, 10:30am

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
