RMLD Invites Wilmington Residents To Family Fun Open House During National Public Power Week

READING, MA — In celebration of National Public Power Week (October 3-9), Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) invites customers to attend an Open House on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 3pm to 6pm, at the RMLD Garage located at 218 Ash Street, Reading.

This fun and educational event will feature family-themed activities such as face painting, balloon art, a caricaturist, kid’s games and prizes, pumpkin decorating, a lineman dress-up activity, an electric vehicle showcase, touch-a-truck and more. RMLD staff will be on hand to educate attendees on electricity, electrical safety, energy conservation, and to share information about RMLD programs.

“As a locally owned and operated, not-for-profit public power utility, we’re proud to provide safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to the communities we serve,” said RMLD General Manager Greg Phipps. “We are grateful the opportunity to host this cherished
event, where we can interact with the public, provide family-friendly entertainment, and let our customers know about our ongoing decarbonization efforts.”
