5 Things To Do In Wilmington On Sunday, September 15, 2024: Frank Lentine Soccer Field Dedication

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Sunday, September 15, 2024:

  • The public is invited to the Dedication of the soccer field at North Intermediate School’s Soccer Field (320 Salem Street) in memory of Frank Lentine at noon. Lentine started soccer as a club sport at Wilmington High School in 1964. The team would play as an independent team from 1969 to 1971. The team then joined the Northern Soccer League, where it went 81-21-15 with Lentine as head coach. The team would win the league championship three times with Lentine at the helm. Lentine, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 84, worked for the Wilmington Public Schools district for 33 years — first as an Industrial Arts teacher and then as a Guidance Counselor. A veteran, he was also a member of the Wilmington High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
