WILMINGTON, MA — Dorothy A. Neal (Leary), “Dot”, age 95, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024.
Dot was the beloved wife of the late Walter E. Neal, devoted mother of Walter P. Neal and wife Carol of Dracut, Stephen D. Neal and wife Cynthia of Myrtle Beach, SC, Deborah M. Filippi and husband Mark of Wilmington, and her late infant son Gary M. Neal. Loving “Nana” of Derrick Neal and wife Carissa, Michelle Penta and husband Christopher, and great-granddaughter Madelyn Neal. Cherished daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Koehler) Leary, dear sister of Edward Leary and wife Mary of Wilmington and the late Virginia Leonard. Dot is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Wednesday, September 4th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. All are welcome to gather at the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 5th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
