OBITUARY: Robert S. Stone, 81

WILMINGTON, MA — Robert S. Stone, fondly known as “Bob” or “Stoney” to his family and friends, age 81, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away on August 1, 2024, at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington.

Bob was born on July 18, 1943, in Reading, MA; he was the dear son of the late Nagel F. and Sikri L. (Paajanen) Stone. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School.

Prior to retiring, Bob worked as a steel worker for the Iron Workers Union Local #7 in Boston for many years.

Bob was also a member of the Wilmington Minutemen where he enjoyed marching in parades, being involved in their reenactments, or just socializing with the other members.

Bob is survived by his brother Nagel F. Stone, Jr. and his wife Gladys of Reading, as well as his nieces, nephews, and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Nagel and Sikri, and his siblings Henry, Oula, Uuno, and Sundra.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, August 26th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
