WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Select Board meets this Monday, August 19, 2024 at 7pm in the Town Hall Auditorium.
The meeting has a number of items on the agenda. Here are some highlights:
- The Select Board will receive a presentation on the Wilmington Elementary School Building Project from its lead architect. The Building Committee, School Committee and Finance Committee are also expected to be in the audience. The Building Committee will may vote Tuesday night on the project’s preferred site option and grade configuration at their meeting. Town Manager Eric Slagle and School Superintendent Glenn Brand are asking the Building Committee to consider delaying the vote until October 1, 2024 in order to collect additional feedback from residents.
- The Select Board will consider the request of the new owners of Peter’s Roast Beef (2 Lowell Street) to receive a common victualer license.
- The Select Board will receive a written update from the Town Manager regarding the use of Town Buildings.
- The Select Board will consider appointing Jacob Gearwar to fill a vacancy on the Economic Development Committee.
- The Select Board will consider the request of the Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce to change the date of the Wilmington Town Business Day on the Town Common from August 19, 2024 to September 24, 2024 at 1pm.
- The Select Board will consider the request of the Wilmington Rotary Club to use Rotary Park on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 8am to noon, for a Community Ice Bucket Challenge to benefit the Angel Fund.
The Board will meet from 6:15pm to 7pm in Executive Session to discuss collective bargaining.
