WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Town Museum is hosting an Open House event on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2pm to 4pm.
Museum staff will unveil a new special exhibition, “Shaping the Future: A Journey Through WHS History.” This exhibit explores the transformation of Wilmington High School over the years and delves into what it has meant to be a student or staff member in the community.
At the event, the museum staff will also be distributing WHS yearbooks to anyone interested.
“As part of standard operations, museums periodically remove or “deaccession” items from their collections that have been thoroughly recorded and digitized, in order to better house other artifacts,” explained Town Museum Curator Matt Beres. “Instead of completely throwing them away, we felt it would be more meaningful to offer them to those who may have lost theirs or are interested in collecting them. Yearbooks from 1950 to 2015 will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.”
The Town Museum is located at 430 Salem Street.
