WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Firefighters Union Local #1370 is raising funds to construct a memorial wall in front of the Wilmington Public Safety Building. One side of the wall will honor two fallen Wilmington firefighters — Wilbur Sheldon and Russell Prat — who were killed in the line of duty back in 1927. The other side of the wall will list the department’s retirees.
The Union is holding a Golf Tournament on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Hillview Country Club in North Reading to raise funds for the memorial. Registration begins at 7am. Tee off at 8am. Tournament (4-person scramble) costs $150 per player. Fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, gift bag, light breakfast and lunch. Lunch will take place at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall after the tournament.
If you’d like to play in the tournament, or make a contribution to the memorial by sponsoring a hole for $100, contact Jason Kennedy at 978-335-0761.
