Wilmington Native Nathan DiMeco Graduates From Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, Joins North Reading Fire Department

NORTH READING, MA — North Reading Fire Chief Don Stats is pleased to share that the North Reading Fire Department welcomed a new firefighter from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy.

Firefighter Nathan DiMeco was one of 33 graduates from 23 departments in the Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program Class #322, which graduated on Friday, July 26.

Firefighter DiMeco is a Wilmington native who graduated from Wilmington High School. He has previous firefighting experience from working as a call firefighter with the Middleton Fire Department.

During the 50-day training program, participants receive classroom training in all basic firefighter skills. They practice first under non-fire conditions and then during controlled fire conditions. The graduates are now certified at the level of Firefighter I and II and in hazardous material operation.

The other 32 graduates of Class #322 represent the fire departments of Amesbury, Andover, Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Charlton, Devens, Falmouth, Foxborough, Groton, Haverhill, Hingham, Leominster, Lexington, Littleton, Marlborough, Maynard Medway, Nantucket, North Andover, Salem, and Westborough.
