Project Manager Provides Update On Town Hall Construction Activities

Below is a letter, dated August 2, from the project manager of the Town Hall/School Administration Building project:

Residents of Wilmington,

Consigli Construction would like to provide a project update focusing on the following activities:

Ledge Removal: The project discovered areas of ledge beneath the initial preparation on site, located at areas in conflict with building structure. Ledge at the north side of the foundation is complete. We will continue to remove ledge that is currently known through the week of 8/10.

Site Excavation: Machinery will continue to excavate the site for foundation, site utilities, and prepare for concrete work to begin. You will see and hear machinery in relation to processing onsite material for re-use.

Utility Work: The work on the Town Commons has been substantially completed. You will see the sitework subcontractor installing topsoil, the concrete subcontractor installing new sidewalks at areas of removal, and hydroseed being completed during the month of September when the growing season begins.

Concrete Work: Concrete foundations have begun their formwork and will begin placements. You will see concrete pumping equipment and a multitude of concrete trucks onsite during placement days.

Site Logistics

The site logistics continue to be as shown above. The sitework subcontractor is actively preparing the parking lot for new binder coat, which will be temporarily striped for parking. Prior to the start of the 2024-2025 academic school year, the fencing will be relocated to the Phase 1 layout.

Sincerely,
Chris Kavanaugh
Consigli Construction, Project Manager
